Whimsical Wedding at Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, West Virginia

July 31, 2026 Sophia Znosko

Dawn Derbyshire Photography

Some love stories are written one chapter at a time, and Kevin and Olyvia's whimsical wedding at Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, West Virginia, felt like stepping into the pages of a beautifully bound novel. Their story began while they were working together at a bookstore, and years later, their engagement came full circle when the proposal took place in another bookstore. Inspired by their shared love of literature and brought to life with elegant shades of purple, every detail reflected a celebration that was deeply personal, romantic, and unforgettable. As a premier West Virginia wedding planner, Kristen Kane Events loves bringing meaningful wedding visions like this to life, and this day was the perfect example of how personalized design creates lasting memories.

From the moment guests arrived at the historic Hotel Morgan, they were immersed in an atmosphere where timeless architecture met imaginative design. Located in the heart of downtown Morgantown, this iconic West Virginia wedding venue provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic celebration. Rich lavender, plum, and violet florals complemented the hotel's historic elegance, creating a sophisticated color palette that felt both enchanting and inviting.

The literary inspiration could be found throughout the celebration, with thoughtful details that honored the couple's love story. One of the most memorable design elements featured color themed books sourced from Books by the Foot, adding authentic charm and creating stunning displays that perfectly captured the couple's journey. Every carefully curated element told part of their story, proving that the most unforgettable weddings are the ones filled with meaningful details that reflect who a couple truly is.

Adding another heartfelt touch to the ceremony, the bride's brother, Kurt Adkins, served as the officiant, making the exchange of vows even more meaningful for the couple and their families.

The reception seamlessly blended elegance with playful whimsy. Romantic candlelight, lush floral arrangements, layered textures, and carefully selected décor transformed the ballroom into a magical setting worthy of a favorite novel. Guests enjoyed a beautiful wedding cake by Ellie's Sweets, along with a signature Pittsburgh Cookie Table that paid tribute to the couple's roots and gave everyone a sweet taste of tradition. The celebration continued with incredible entertainment from John with 2nd II None Productions, who kept the dance floor packed all evening and also provided a fun-filled photo booth where guests captured memories throughout the night.

Every beautiful moment was expertly documented by Dawn Derbyshire Photography, whose timeless and artistic images perfectly captured the emotion, joy, and intricate details of the day. Behind the scenes, AConti Media served as the couple's content creator, preserving candid, real-time moments that they'll be able to relive long after the celebration ended. Bella Beauty Beautiful completed the bridal look with stunning hair and makeup that perfectly complemented the wedding's romantic aesthetic.

For guests traveling to celebrate the couple, Hotel Morgan also provided convenient accommodations, allowing family and friends to fully enjoy the festivities while experiencing the charm of this historic venue.

At Kristen Kane Events, we believe every wedding should tell a unique story. Whether you're planning a wedding at Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, a celebration elsewhere in West Virginia, or a destination event, our goal is to create an experience that reflects your personality and leaves a lasting impression on every guest. Real Nemacolin Wedding: Alex and Tressa

March 5, 2026 Kristen Kane

Leann Marie Photography

Alex and Tressa celebrated their wedding at Nemacolin Resort, one of the most popular resort venues within driving distance of Pittsburgh. The day began in the Grand Lodge suites where the couple and their wedding party got ready before their ceremony at Reflections and reception at Mulligans. With all the wedding locations on property, Nemacolin offers couples and their guests a seamless experience.

Hair styling was provided by Wanderlust Beauty while Beauty by Caitlyn D completed the bridal look with makeup that complemented the relaxed elegance of the day. As guests arrived at Reflections, the ceremony setting was enhanced with florals designed by Connor Diesel of Nemacolin Atelier, adding thoughtful detail to the natural surroundings.

Kristen Kane Events provided their custom Month of Management package tailored specifically for Nemacolin couples. Services included vendor coordination leading up to the wedding day, overseeing the ceremony rehearsal, setting up personal items prior to the ceremony and reception, and day of coordination to ensure the day ran smoothly from start to finish. This approach allows couples to remain involved in planning while having professional guidance when it matters most.

Integral Enrichment officiant Luanne O'Brien led the ceremony, creating a meaningful moment for Alex and Tressa as they exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Mulligans for the reception. Following appetizers, guests enjoyed a sit down dinner with synchronized service. Wedding cake and the Pittsburgh cookie table were served for dessert. Dinner and wedding cake were prepared by Nemacolin chefs.

Chris Stankay provided music and entertainment for the evening, keeping the dance floor active as guests celebrated throughout the night. Leeann Marie Photography documented the day with a thoughtful mix of portraits and candid moments, while Penderville Wedding Films captured the celebration on film.

This wedding was especially meaningful because the bride is the sister of Autumn Stankay, owner of Skysight Photography, one of our favorite photographers to collaborate with over the years. Being trusted by families within the wedding industry is always something we truly appreciate.

Nemacolin continues to be a beautiful setting for weddings, and Alex and Tressa’s celebration shows how a Pittsburgh Event Planner can help couples navigate the resort’s multiple spaces, creating a seamless and enjoyable wedding day.

Real Atrium Wedding: Joe and Emily

January 13, 2026 Kristen Kane

Linnea Marie Photography

Many of you may recognize this beautiful bride. Emily has spent many hours supporting our couples as part of the Kristen Kane Events team, and this fall, it was her turn to be celebrated as she married Joe at The Atrium in Prospect, PA.

Being on the other side of the clipboard is always special, but assisting with planning and coordinating a wedding for one of our own team members made this day especially meaningful. Emily knows firsthand just how much planning, communication, and organization goes into a smooth wedding day — and trusting Kristen Kane Events to manage her own celebration was an honor we don’t take lightly.

A Thoughtfully Planned Wedding Day in Butler County

From the moment the doors opened at The Atrium, every detail of Joe and Emily’s wedding day unfolded seamlessly. Their timeline was carefully structured to allow for a relaxed morning, a meaningful ceremony, and a celebration that felt effortless for the couple and their guests alike.

This is exactly why professional wedding day coordination is so important, especially in Butler County, where venues, vendors, and logistics can vary widely. Our role was to ensure vendors were aligned, the timeline stayed on track, décor was placed exactly as planned, and Emily and Joe could truly be present for every moment.

Ceremony & Reception Highlights

The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Joel Benson, who delivered a heartfelt service that reflected Joe and Emily’s faith and commitment to one another. Soft florals and thoughtfully selected rentals from Weddings by Jeff Double, transformed The Atrium into a warm and inviting space that balanced elegance with comfort.

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to an incredible meal by Medures Catering, followed by a beautiful cake from Sweet Treats Bakery by Jen Christy. As a fun and unexpected surprise, Kona Ice rolled in with a dessert truck that added a playful, personal touch to the evening.

The celebration continued on the dance floor with DJ Mike Simmons keeping the energy high all night long.

A Dream Vendor Team

Joe and Emily were surrounded by a vendor team that understands the importance of collaboration and communication — something we emphasize with every wedding we coordinate.

Hair was flawlessly done by Ericka from Monarch Collective, while Linnea Marie Photography captured every moment with care and artistry. Videographer Zaikelso documented the day beautifully, preserving both the big moments and the quiet ones in between.

As always, Kristen Kane Events managed wedding day coordination from start to finish, ensuring that each vendor had what they needed, transitions were smooth, and nothing felt rushed or stressful.

From Assistant to Bride

Watching Emily experience her own wedding day with confidence and calm was a full-circle moment for our team. She trusted the process, trusted her vendors, and trusted her timeline. That trust made all the difference.

Joe and Emily’s wedding is a perfect example of what’s possible when couples invest in professional wedding day coordination. Our goal is always the same: to protect your peace, manage the details, and allow you to focus on what truly matters.

If you’re planning a wedding in Butler County or the surrounding Pittsburgh area and want a stress-free wedding day experience, we’d love to help.
