Designed and installed by Kristen Kane Events, Wigle Wonderland transformed the existing distillery into a sophisticated winter escape filled with luxurious holiday décor, interactive photo opportunities, signature cocktails, and thoughtfully curated seasonal details. Inspired by snowy mountain resorts and cozy ski lodges, every design element worked together to create an inviting atmosphere where guests could gather, relax, and celebrate throughout the holiday season.

Bringing an Après Ski Experience to Pittsburgh

The vision for Wigle Wonderland centered around the charm and sophistication of an alpine lodge. Rather than embracing traditional holiday reds and greens, the design featured a refined palette of crisp whites, shimmering metallics, warm natural textures, and rich blue accents that reflected the elegance of a winter getaway.

From the moment guests entered, they were welcomed into an environment that felt warm, inviting, and distinctly different from a traditional Christmas pop-up. Every detail was carefully selected to create a festive atmosphere while maintaining the elevated style that complemented the Wigle Whiskey brand and tasting room.

A Ceiling Designed to Sparkle

The defining feature of Wigle Wonderland was undoubtedly the breathtaking ceiling installation.

Hundreds of sparkling crystal strands were suspended overhead, creating a dramatic focal point that immediately captured guests' attention. As the lighting reflected through the crystals, the entire space shimmered, giving the illusion of falling ice and glistening winter snowfall.

The installation completely transformed the tasting room, encouraging guests to pause, look up, and appreciate one of the most memorable design features in the entire experience. It quickly became one of the most photographed elements of the pop-up and set the tone for the elegant winter atmosphere found throughout the venue.

Thoughtful Holiday Details

A large custom Wigle Wonderland logo created an eye-catching focal point and welcomed guests into the experience. Surrounded by oversized snowflakes, the branded installation seamlessly blended holiday magic with the distillery's identity while providing another popular backdrop for photos.

Throughout the tasting room, shelves were carefully styled with fresh-looking snow, natural birch accents, and an assortment of neutral and metallic Christmas trees. These layered displays added warmth and texture while reinforcing the sophisticated alpine aesthetic that defined the space.

Every decorative element was selected to complement the venue's existing architecture while enhancing the immersive holiday atmosphere.

Cozy Alpine Comfort

Comfort played an important role in creating the Wigle Wonderland experience.

A deep blue sofa invited guests to relax between cocktails while faux fur throws and decorative pillows featuring evergreen tree imagery added warmth and texture to the seating area. The inviting lounge space encouraged conversation and created the feeling of gathering inside a luxurious mountain lodge after a day on the slopes.

Even the smallest details were intentionally designed. Holiday wreaths adorned the bar stools, bringing festive touches throughout the space without overwhelming the clean, elegant design.

The transformation extended all the way to the back of the space, where the distillery doors were wrapped with custom après ski-inspired decals that welcomed visitors before they even stepped inside. These custom graphics established the theme from the very beginning and built anticipation for the winter wonderland waiting beyond the doors.
