Step through the keyhole and tumble down the rabbit hole into a world where curiosity is encouraged, time stands still, and every detail tells a story. Designed by Kristen Kane Events, the Mad Hatter's Boozy Tea Party transformed an ordinary venue into a whimsical Alice in Wonderland-inspired immersive experience filled with imaginative décor, interactive photo opportunities, signature cocktails, and unforgettable moments.

Created for guests looking for an evening unlike any other, this immersive pop-up experience blended theatrical storytelling with experiential event design to transport visitors into one of literature's most beloved fantasy worlds. Every room, every table, and every ceiling installation was thoughtfully designed to create a magical environment where guests could explore, discover hidden details, and become part of the story.

Down the Rabbit Hole

The adventure began the moment guests arrived.

The entrance door featured a whimsical pattern complete with a keyhole, inviting visitors to step through and begin their journey down the rabbit hole. As the doors opened, guests were welcomed by a striking black-and-white checkered floor that immediately immersed them in the playful world of Wonderland.

Directional signs reading "This Way" and "That Way" pointed guests in every direction while oversized playing cards climbed the walls, creating the feeling that nothing in Wonderland followed ordinary rules. Every element of the entrance was designed to spark curiosity and encourage guests to look around, knowing surprises awaited at every turn.

A Court Fit for the Queen of Hearts

The bar became a main focus of the experience, transformed into a dramatic setting worthy of the Queen of Hearts herself.

Oversized playing cards covered both the walls and the front of the bar, creating a bold visual statement that immediately drew guests into the space. Rich red accents carried throughout the design, while glowing red votive candles added warmth and atmosphere across the bar top.

In true Wonderland fashion, "the roses were painted red." Vibrant red roses were incorporated throughout the design, extending above the lighting fixtures to create layers of color and visual interest. Oversized flowers completed the fantasy-inspired setting, surrounding guests with larger-than-life botanical elements that made the space feel as though they had stepped directly into Alice's extraordinary adventure.

Meeting the Caterpillar

One of the most enchanting areas of the experience invited guests into a lush forest inspired by Absolem the Caterpillar.

Overflowing greenery, whimsical mushrooms, delicate butterflies, and abundant foliage transformed the space into a magical woodland scene. The layered textures and natural elements created a striking contrast to the bold playing card displays, giving guests another immersive environment to explore while continuing their journey through Wonderland.

Every corner offered new details to discover, encouraging visitors to slow down, look closely, and appreciate the countless design elements woven throughout the experience.

Interactive Photo Opportunities

No immersive experience would be complete without unforgettable photo opportunities, and the Mad Hatter's Boozy Tea Party featured two signature installations designed to become guest favorites.

One of the most popular photo locations featured a lush boxwood greenery wall illuminated by a glowing neaon sign with the Cheshire Cat face and read "We're All Mad Here". A vibrant hot pink sofa paired with black-and-white striped pillows created the perfect place for guests to relax, pose for photos, and embrace the playful spirit of Wonderland.

Across the venue, guests were reminded not to be late for another iconic photo opportunity inspired by the White Rabbit himself. A dramatic oversized clock stood before a breathtaking wall of vibrant red roses, creating another memorable backdrop that quickly became one of the most photographed features of the event.

Details Hidden Around Every Corner

At Kristen Kane Events, we believe the smallest details often leave the biggest impression.

Guest tables were designed to feel like scenes from the Mad Hatter's famous tea party. Moss table runners provided a natural foundation for carefully curated centerpieces featuring vintage teacups, antique teapots, clocks, candles, and whimsical accessories that encouraged guests to linger and explore every table.

Above, the ceiling became an immersive work of art.

Lush greenery intertwined with ivy and cascading wisteria transformed the overhead space into an enchanted canopy. Hanging throughout were playing cards, suspended teacups, skeleton keys, vintage lampshades, umbrellas overflowing with florals and even a chair floating overhead. Completing the illusion, Alice herself appeared to be falling down the rabbit hole, creating one of the most memorable visual moments in the entire experience.

By designing every inch of the venue, including the ceiling, guests were completely surrounded by the story no matter where they looked.
